HON 405 Senior Honors Research Symposium 02
SENIOR HONORS RESEARCH SYMPOSIUM (1-3). This course is designed to assist students seeking the honors degree at Alabama State University in preparing a polished project of the caliber of a mini-thesis and defend the capstone paper as a project of scholarly worth to the academic field of the student scholar. A large focus of the course will be writing the final capstone paper, conference presentation, data presentation, and defense preparation based on a content-specific topic germane to the student’s academic discipline, along with the student’s Capstone Advisor, Academic Committee Members, and the Director of the Honors Program. This class is primarily an independent study class where the bulk of the responsibility for completing the capstone project rests firmly on the shoulders of the student. It is the student’s responsibility to adhere to a strict set of dates for the completion of the capstone project and to establish a strict calendar for meetings with his/her Capstone Advisor, Academic Committee Members, and the Director of the Honors Program before the last day to defend the Capstone Project.
