About the Department

The Department of Engineering offers two undergraduate degrees- B.S. in Biomedical Engineering and B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. The Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering has three different tracks or concentrations-tissue engineering, biomechanics and rehabilitation and biomedical imaging and instrumentation.  Both programs feature an emphasis on experiential learning through internships, research experience and design projects.

The mission of the Department of Engineering is to provide a transformative educational experience and foster innovative research that addresses the evolving needs of society. Through our Biomedical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering programs, we aim to equip students with the technical expertise, critical thinking skills, and ethical values necessary to tackle complex global challenges. We are committed to advancing knowledge in both fields by promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, cultivating leadership, and contributing to the development of sustainable, impactful solutions in healthcare, technology, and industry. Our department strives to shape engineers who are not only highly skilled but also socially responsible, prepared to drive positive change and improve quality of life for communities worldwide
