BME 290 Introduction to Materials

Introduction to Materials (3). Fundamentals of materials engineering, including terminology, structure/property/performance interrelationships, mechanical testing and behavior, heat treating, and processing. Materials selection and use of familiar materials - metals, ceramics, polymers, electronic materials and composites in electronics, structural, biomedical and other engineering applications. Prerequisites: CHE 141, PHY 210 or consent of instructor.
