TEACHING SOCIAL STUDIES IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION (3). This course is designed to introduce prospective teachers to methods and materials used in teaching social studies in early childhood education. Emphasis is placed upon the relationship of theory to practice in teaching children ages 3-8. In addition to on-campus class sessions, participation in a laboratory experience is required. Required: Due to emphasis on integration of subject matter, the student must also be enrolled in EDU 369 and EDU 370.
