Academic Placement for Entering Freshmen
Entering Freshman who choose not to submit ACT or SAT scores should take advantage of the University's test-optional policy by participating in the University's ACCUPLACER assessment to determine course placement.
The purpose of the Next-Generation ACCUPLACER® test is to assist institutions in placing test takers into appropriate college-level courses. The Next-Generation ACCUPLACER® is a computer-adaptive comprehensive battery of tests designed to assess students’ skills levels in Reading, Writing, and Math.
The Accuplacer, ACT or SAT score determine students’ placement in English, mathematics, reading and writing courses. Based on the placement test score, students will be placed in either developmental or non developmental courses,
Students who are seeking institutional scholarships must have an ACT or SAT score on file to be considered for any undergraduate institutional scholarship opportunity .
Students with Presidential Scholarships are required to enroll in the honors curriculum.
NOTE: Transfer students with at least 27 credits are exempted from all developmental courses.
