CMM 327 Digital Storytelling
CMM 327 Digital Storytelling
Old Name: Features and Specialized Formats
Description: This course requires students to write compelling and factual feature articles for digital and social media platforms using storytelling approaches aimed to produce substantive nonfiction stories that illuminate a “slice of life,” often in human terms. Grounded in a news approach, features are built from facts but with elements that are grounded in time, in place, and with people who represent both. The course fosters a workshop environment in which students build appreciation and skill sets for this particular journalistic craft. Students are required to add content to their digital portfolios and are expected to contribute toward departmental digital and social media publications.
