Description: This hands-on course will teach students how to develop meaningful content with a focus on incorporating visual tools (e.g., charts, infographics) to convey information about public issues to enhance comprehension for audiences. Students will leave the course with a portfolio of data visualization projects that demonstrate the application of data storytelling with elements of traditional editorials and opinion news columns. This course is intended for students with knowledge about factual storytelling and newswriting but with a beginner level in data visualization.
