AMERICAN LITERATURE I (3). American Literature from pre-colonial to the present is studied as a reflection of life and thought of the times and as literary art. The aim of the course is to give a sound foundation for more literary study. Prerequisite: ENG 131, ENG 132 or ENG 140 or ENG 141.
