Policy, Leadership and Administration in Forensic Social Work (3). In this course students will critically analyze major social policies and demonstrate and understanding of how social policies related to Forensic Social Work are formulated and influenced. Students will also study the role of policy in service delivery and then practice and learn the relationship of course content to the EPAS and to Forensic social work practice.
Students will be encouraged to look for key elements or principles leading to effective administration and organizational performance. These can then be used in the future to guide administrative behavior. An overriding course theme will be organizational learning: how administrators and staff acquire and transfer knowledge to make their organizations more thoughtful, purposeful, responsive, and, ultimately, maximally effective.
