MGT 590 Strategic Management

As an introduction to strategic management, this course explores theories, frameworks, tools, and perspectives for understanding both planned and emergent organizational behavior and
performance. The goal is to understand strategic management processes and become proficient at identifying and evaluating the strategies that organizations develop and implement. This
capstone course is the last course in the program and builds on previous MBA coursework by integrating functional and technical areas. As a result, students should expect to integrate prior
MBA learning in the various aspects of this course.

Student learning in this course will include a working mastery of: concepts from the texts and lectures, student research on organizations, and familiarity with and opinions about cases that
will be discussed. Students will work both individually and in teams.
