PTH 7825 Health Disparities
Health Disparities (2) This course will provide students with an in depth exploration of health disparities which exist in the United States as a consequence of race, ethnicity, social economic status, or culture. The roles of health status indicators, social determinants of health, cultural competency, and access to health services are discussed and debated. Students will use national data from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the US Office of Minority Health, and the National Institutes of Medicine to construct arguments to promote health equity and eliminate health disparities.
