Additional requirements for the BFA in Dance degree:

  • Students must audition and be accepted into the BFA Dance Program as a major or minor.
  • Majors must successfully complete DAN 411 Senior Project. Under the guidance and supervision of Dance faculty, each senior BFA student must culminate their study by individually participating in the creation, rehearsal, performance, and technical aspects of a fully produced dance work. Each work will be showcased in a senior dance concert. Senior students are expected to take major responsibilities for the production of these concerts. The progress of each student will be formally assessed with written evaluations and individual conferences.
  • Majors must successfully complete Level I – IV in Ballet, Modern Dance, Jazz or Tap, African or Hip Hop.
  • Majors must participate, in performance and choreographic opportunities, by enrolling in DAN 115-425 Dance Performance I-V.
  • Majors must complete an entrance Pre-Test and a Senior Exit Exam and yearly Dance/Jury Evaluation.
  • Majors must meet the BFA Dance Guidelines to remain in the program.
